My Journey in Tech, just so far

M

Introduction

Hello to whoever decides to read this blog, my name is Ryan. Thanks for checking this out.

I have been working in the tech industry since 2016 (that’s 7 years!), primarily in startups, with a bit of freelance experience. During this time, I’ve evolved from a graduate to a junior full-stack developer, and now to a senior backend engineer, starting with JavaScript and PHP and now heavily using Golang.

Hopefully, the purpose of this blog is pretty clear… I’m going to write about code – Yay!

The teaser

What’s in store?
What snippets will you see?
What possible rants and tribulations will I unfold in a series of, perhaps, unwanted posts?!

Well, the answer to that, while I’m writing this, is largely unknown. How exciting, right?

Seriously though, I plan to start with a simple project, stored on GitHub, to get that general vibe. I hope to find my sea legs in writing blog posts.

Aspirational Conclusion

In summary, what I hope to get out of this and what I hope you might find alongside:

I want a space that encourages my personal growth, rather than relying on the usual fear of looking at job specs and wishing I could reset my attribute points accordingly, to fit the current industry demands. Fingers crossed, using a creative outlet will be a healthier, overall enjoyable experience that will foster the good stuff.

If by chance you stumble across here, or if I have sent you a million “please subscribe” requests, maybe I have written something that resonates with what you needed that day.

Thanks a bunch,
Ryan
